Excellent and Suspenseful Horror
This film won't be for everyone, but I found it to be extremely effective in building tension and being eerie and unsettling. I was frankly a bit frightened at some parts, and I felt that the film did an excellent job of keeping me in its grip of mystery throughout.
Aside from a very few elements I felt might have been more effective if done differently, I think this is one of the best and most undeservedly overlooked films that I've ever seen. Certainly the acting isn't all stellar by everyone involved, but it's solid enough and especially considering the small cast are enough to carry the film for its running time. There's a ring of distinct realism about the feel of the film, which is one of the reasons why I liked it so much: it's easy to believe that things happened this way, and no-one was particularly overwrought in their performance.
Definitely check this out if you like tense, creepy, genuinely scary stories of haunting. It's a familiar story, of people spending a night in a supposedly haunted house, who doubt there is anything to it at first, but they begin to reconsider as the night goes on. I wasn't expecting to be as engaged -- or as unsettled -- as I was by this film. Superb.

Where is MST3k when you need them?????
This not nearly as bad as most low budget films. It has an actual plot.
The actors, even though they are grade D-, do try to giveit their all.
The sound and the camera work are atrocious, though.
It will do.

Bound for cult-classicdom
The ending was disappointing..Really bad. Up to that point was kind of interesting. Reminded me of an early Dan Curtis/Dark Shadows type film. Too bad the writers didn't put more thought into the production especially the ending. Horror movie lovers might appreciate it.

The good player
Where's the good player ... you know, the old one? If I choose to use the old player, the page reloads with NO player! Please replace it, I can't stand the new player.

A really spooky haunted house movie
Because it is a low budget film, it does have a few technical problems, mostly poor audio. In spite of this I give this film my approval because it has a genuinely spooky atmosphere both visually and in regard to the synthesizer sound effects used. This film is actually pretty creepy toward the end. There are some elements of this film that are similar to elements in Evil Dead II such as: trails in the woods changing, clocks behaving oddly, creative use of smoke, a spooky cellar, spirit communication and a few others. I hope others enjoys it.

What a stinker - but I watched it.
This is a hard one for me to review, if only because I"m of two minds about it. The directing is terrible. People stare into the lens - or just off-lens - for what seems like an eternity, and for no obvious reason. The sound doesn't always sync up with the scenes, and it's hard to figure whether some of the sounds you hear are soundtrack background or something the actors are supposed to be hearing. The 'night' scenes are difficult to make out, and many of the cuts don't line up scenes properly.
And it's not like this is a 'so-bad-that-it's-good type movie - it's played too straight for that, and there's no humor to it. Still, I have to say that I stayed for the end, although it took about four separate viewings to get through it all. There is a certain amateurish charm to it. I love a haunted house movie, and let's face it, there just aren't a lot of them out there worth squat.
If you understand the genre - 1960s B&W drive-in filler - you may like it enough to sit through it. It certainly doesn't aspire to much, so as long as you're getting it here for free, why not give it a chance?

....How Many Inept "I've Got Nothing Better To Do" People You Can Round Up To Make Claptrap Like This..!..Payroll Musta Been Free Beer & A Sandwich..!
Very good flick. I would like to have known who did the music, and sound. That was some jamming guitar at the beginning, at the restaurant.
Good effects, poor acting, but sufficient.
I never saw this before, so thank you for the chance.
I would really like to find "Fiend Without A Face."
If anyone can upload that, I will always be in debt.

Better Than What I Expected
This is a stay-a-night-in-a-haunted-house-on-a-bet movie. The summary at the top of the page is quite accurate. You'll find nothing original in the story or plot, but the filmmakers and actors made a good effort. Pacing is good, if uneven, and I wasn't bored much. I found a few laughs here and there. This one is better than the tedious eye-rollers The Screaming Skull and The Amazing Mr. X and some others here at IA.
I downloaded the 388MB AVI file. Video and audio quality are fair.
